BETTER UNDERSTANDING HOW TO LIVE WITH LUPUS

What is the role of the social worker and how to contact him or her?

The role of the social worker is to intervene with individuals, families and groups to improve living conditions and prevent social, medico-social, economic and cultural difficulties. The social worker is a professional who guides patients in the process with social organisations. He /she sees people by appointment, makes home visits and assumes administrative tasks. He/She is the intermediary between the public and the competent bodies to respond to the requests of individuals. The social worker is involved in social care (opening, maintaining or restoring rights, setting up a mutual insurance company, etc.), for assistance in the recognition of disability with authorities, orientation/staying in employment, redeployment or vocational training, home support, implementation of financial aid. To contact a social worker, you must contact the hospital service in which you are being followed, your town hall, or your Social Security centre.
