Rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammatory disease that preferentially affects the synovial joints. Rheumatoid arthritis is the most common chronic inflammatory rheumatism. It is characterized by its evolution through successive flares, its preferential location in the limbs, and its destructive, ankylosing and distorting tendency. It is also a systemic disease belonging to the group of connective tissue diseases with extra-articular manifestations that can be life-threatening.
