Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, often abbreviated as "NSAIDs", are drugs with anti-inflammatory, as well as analgesic and antipyretic properties, that is, they reduce inflammation, pain and fever. The term "nonsteroidal" is used to distinguish them from glucocorticoids, which (among a wide range of effects) also have anti-inflammatory action. The two best-known NSAIDs are aspirin and ibuprofen, but many molecules are part of this group of drugs.
