MRI uses the magnetic energy of protons to study with great precision many organs such as the brain, spine, joints and soft tissues. It is of great use when a very fine analysis is necessary and some lesions are not visible on standard X-rays, ultrasound or CT scans. It makes it possible to have cross-sectional images in different planes and to reconstruct in three dimensions the analysed structure.
